SingTel has launched Singapore's first fourth-generation 4G, or Long Term Evolution (LTE), mobile broadband service.

The network coverage will be mainly in the Central Business District, Bukit Panjang, Boon Lay, Bedok and Changi. It will expand to 95 per cent by the first quarter of 2013.

The new 4G plan, known as Prestige 75 + Premium 21, is only for dongle modems. Not for smartphones or tablets. The plan ($69.90 monthly subscription) comes with free local data bundle of 10GB for LTE data along with 50GB of 3G data. Typical download speed is 3.4Mbps – 12.0Mbps.

From 1 July, data bundles will be reduced from the current 12GB (See here). The first table shows the new data bundles (wef 1 Jul. Premium not affected) and the second table shows the current 12GB price plans.
