Animal rights activists staged a dramatic protest in Barcelona on Tuesday when they stripped naked and displayed themselves as "a plate of human flesh" to draw attention to the plight of the world's farm animals.
The graphic protest complete with artificial lettuce and a giant cutlery set was staged by animal rights group AnimaNaturalis on World Day for Farmed Animals (WDFA).
Held outside Barcelona's Mercat de Born, the 'performance' was designed to "invite society to reflect on where the food on their plates come from", AnimaNaturalis Director for Spain Aida Gascón told Spanish news agency Efe.
