S’pore authorities refuse permit for AIDS fund-raising concert
A fundraising concert organised by a Singapore Christian support group to promote HIV awareness has been given the axe by licensing authorities citing that the event would be “against public interest.”
This is what is posted in affect05's site, stating its objectives.
affect05 is a charity fund-raising concert in benefit of Action for AIDS (AfA), Singapore. The objectives for the concert are 2 fold: to raise funds for AfA and to promote awareness and understanding of AIDS problem in Singapore to combat this deadly disease. No where in the website did it mention that it is promoting anything that is "against public interest"
Sigh! Need not speak more. Maybe should let the Dr and Co. attend some awareness/appreciation courses like this one here

Did the fact that a Christian group is organising this event somehow slip past the authorities? I'm hardly an expert, but if a Christian group is willing to be involved, surely it is relatively 'harmless'. (not that I'm saying non-Christian related gay events are harmful)
ReplyDeleteI geuss they figure well, gay is gay.
ReplyDeleteNo matter what group organises it, they seem to always link to the G word.
