of tp and hp

Some news on Traffic Police. (May be old to many)

Apart from the news in today's papers about use of handphone while driving (weapons of mess distraction?), there had also been news that the Traffic Police would be adding some cars to their fleet.

Well, they have already. Found this thread in sgforums.

And then there's another group of TP on 1400cc bikes. Bikes that are not the usual white but black in colour.

Vroom vroom. Drive safe.

  1. I think it's absolutely irony that the using of HP is not allowed. whether is it hands free talking, or simply fondling of the phone (sms). they claim tt it's distraction to the drivers.

how about driving a family of four people. they will definitely discuss opinions and talk right? ain't that DISTRACTION too?

talking wirelessly and talking with passengers on the car, isn't it the same concept?

  3. Contrary to popular belief, the handsfree set does NOT prevent car accidents. The root cause for automobile mishaps lie in the fact that the driver too preoccupied with the conversation at hand to actually take notice of the situation on the road. This of course is different to having a passenger who is talking to you (or a family in the car, which Claris has poitned out), because he/she can see the road as well, and will know when to stop and resume the conversation as seen fit.

Of course, in Malaysia, this is probably as much horse elbows. Drivers in KL talk on their mobiles all the time, with or without the handsfree.

And on a side note, if the Malaysian police actually have cars as chun as the one in the picture, i'm gonna get me enlisted baby! :)

  5. Honestly I disliked using the handsfree earpiece. I fumble with the cable (Sorry my handphone's tooth is not blue). And to fit the earpiece into the small ear of mine is pain in the bum-bum. That's why now I use LOUDspeaker.

Claris: To me, it's more distracting conversing over the phone while driving. I need to concentrate more when talking to something that is non-human. :) Talking to passengers less distracting.

ah 9, if that happens, sooner or later they'll ban cars on the road. All downgrade to ka-lah-chia (bicycle). Imagine bicycles along the AYE.

jkaiser: I've mastered sms w/o touching fone while driving. I'll ask my wife to SMS for me. :) Sekali TP book her.

eddie g.: Some passengers talk on and on. They not only don't see road but the also will not stop talking. Even when I'm reversing car, in which I need more concentration, also will not stop. Well at least Malaysia is also clamping down on use of handphones while driving.

Trust me, we will still get into accidents, even with kah dah chia, on the AYE.
