2 articles in the papers today. One on cab rentals and the other on NS food ration.
Article 1: More cabbies failing to pay rental
"Rising numbers of cabs, few users mean many can't make ends meet. The drivers pay a daily rental of about $90, on top of about $40 a day for diesel and other outlays on things like carparks and car washes."
Is there a chance to reduce the cab rentals? Well that's what I hope for because that's what I always hear the drivers complained. Rental so high, cannot make it!. And do the cabbies still pay rental for the satellite equipment thingy at the dashboard? In the past, they had to pay some form of charge to use them. Not sure about now.
Article 2: Oreos, soldier? Familiar brands may join ranks of troop rations
"TROOPS in some army units and the Officer Cadet School are trying Uncle Toby's cereal bars, Kellogg's Frosties cereal and Oreo biscuits as field rations."
I wish we'll get this soon in our ration.
You know with the way things are going, beginning with the NB shoes and dunlop mattresses, I wouldn't be surprised if your wish comes true in the near future. :)
ReplyDeleteI can't help it but feeling jealous leh...now no need to clean toilets, running on comfortable shoes and eating junk foods for growth and nutrition of the thinking soldiers :)

ReplyDeleteSorry to burst your hopes... But the only motive for taxi companies to put up such press release is to prelude their REQUEST TO RAISE TAXI FARES.
I reckon we shall see the news that they are requesting for a increase in taxi fare charges before month end.
