of appointments

Making appointments to see a doctor at one of our hospitals is like playing musical chairs.

Six months ago, I made an appointment to see a doctor. The appointment was for 16th November.

In July, I called the hospital to reschedule the appointment to an earlier date due to last minute work comittment. The hospital confirmed the change by sending a "Change In Appointment" notification letter to my home address.

In August, I received another "Change In Appointment" notification to inform me the appointment has been rescheduled again because the doctor "is not available".

Yesterday I got another notification. Change in appointment again. 16th November. Have to call them again.

  1. Can you please inform them you are a very busy man?! -_-

And that every minute you waste is $1 million dollars gone?!

Like that then I think they'll FINALLY settle down on your appointment man...Ha...

  6. Sigh, sounds like the usual bereaucratic runaround. When you write in, make a note of the snafu. This being Singapore, they will hopefully take note and improve the system.

Take heart that at least the system here is better than in many other countries.

  11. averilchan: They confirm will not believe one.

claris: Very troublesome to comprain. Sometimes comprain is like talking to wall. Not sure how they handle comprain in the hospital.

juz_a_gal: Have to be efficient. Hospital leh. :)

belle: *hold hands, skip in a circle*

jasper chen: More like put patients in a blackhole. :)

pfong: Agree agree. Our system definitely better. Have tasted worse ones overseas.

amaranth: Ya. No choice we also rely on them. So have to live with it.

bahgae: Eh nice number leh. Noted!

jayaxe: No. It is 2004. kekeke...

  13. This may sound contrary, but better to change appointment and get the actual doctor to see than to have a stand-in and have a 2nd hand doctor of usually, a "lower title". Happened once to me, and stand-in is no good, don't know head to tail of my case history. Btw, I don't for the hospitals.

  14. ang ku kueh: Will see him sooner or later...maybe next year. :)

mother superior: In the previous appointments, I saw the stand-in. The doctor will come in for a short while to read the notes taken by the stand-in, give some advice and leave.
