of why pls drive safely

Whenever I see the "Traffic Police Ops. Pls Drive Safely" EMAS signboard along the expressway, I get scared.

Not because I speed. But the sign makes me feel that the roads are dangerous when the Traffic Police are present.

Why do we need to drive safely whenever the Traffic Police are out there catching driving offences? Shouldn't the sign be "Do Not Speed" or "Drive Within Limits" instead of "Pls Drive Safely"?

  1. I rather they put "Please drive properly" or "Please don't drive like an ass" instead, considering how many crazy drivers are out there.

  2. Some people fear the money than their lives.

Traffic Police are there to capture them for what they fear.

  5. The signs should say exactly what they mean and order of you instead of a polite request. If we decide to say F...Off to the polite signage and continue to speed and they stop us and give us a citation they don't politely say "Here is your Ticket Sir/Maam, now you have a wonderful day, Do they?

Anyway good to be back in the lancerlord commentry club, later...

  6. Well, they are correct in some sense.

People tend to step on the brake when they see TP. So the TP are actually making the road more dangerous, thus the sign is there to warn u.

(I'm on of those who will step on the brake lightly when I see a TP. EVEN if I'm below the speed limit. Its a natural instint.)

  9. it is all part of the police drive to educate motorist rather than to issue summons. prob is before motorist suddenly slow down or change lane, when see police car/bike, when they see traffic police and accidents happen! so police have to warn people they around otherwise ppl will go hit others.

  10. winter: Agree. Drive safe. Most of the time see TP is last minute one. More of a fright than being alerted. :)

straydog: If they show hor, then it would be "Please don't drive like an a**"

jasper chen: If the person orh kong money, then that person will feel pinch. If the person loses life, other people feel that pinch.

jkaiser: I also feel that way. Just like other country use cardboard cut out of police car to scare drivers on the road.

bs: hur hur. The TP undercover as those pruning the trees. kekeke....

blu: It wouldn't be a wonderful day after getting the ticket. But it would be a wonderful day to the officer giving out the tickets. He can show the list of offenders to his boss. :)

dk: Cannot brake hard. Scarly TP summon ticket for driving recklessly. kekeke...

sunshin3: Well it is working to some extent. At least cars are moving slowly when there is the sign. Cars move even slower when near the TP.

ah 9: Should have the sign say. "TP Ops. May the force be with u :P"

chocolove: Take public transport is good. Car monthly expenses is high. Pocket burn big big hole. :)

lion: Usually no chance to change lane when see uncle TP standing by the roadside, legs wide wide. All the cars will be crawling very very slowly. :)
