Shocking email sent by son of Burma's wealthiest tycoon: The guy in the photo is Htet Tay Za, 19 year old son of Burma's wealtiest tycoon, Tay Za. It was speculated that Htet, who is studying at the United World College of South East Asia, sent an arrogant email that ridiculed the US sanction on Burma. In the email, Htet attached photos of him partying with pretty girls in Singapore and saying "US bans us? We’re still f—ing cool in Singapore. See my photos?" -US bans us? We’re still f—ing cool in Singapore. See my photos? We’re sitting on the whole Burmese GDP. We’ve got timber, gems and gas to be sold to other countries like Singapore, China, India and Russia. My brother is rocking on his red brand new Lamborghini Gallardo with hot sexy western chicks. Come on with Bagan (Air Bagan). It is cheaper than others, right? one US $ makes a lot differences in Burmese currency. And I need another Ferrari to rock on![sic]

I am a close friend of Htet’s and i can assure you this is all false. Htet is a really nice and incredibly down to earth guy and this is definately NOT something he would write i assure you. through some discussions with htet himself i’ve gathered that he has allot of respect for the Burmese people and he and understands very well that he is fortunate enough to be as wealthy as he is and he certainly does not take his family’s wealth for granted. Htet often stops to give homeless people on the street money and often reminds himself not to forget where his family came from as the Tay Za family were not always as wealthy as they are today.
ReplyDeleteIt is a shame to se all the hate shown towards his father as in fact the entire family are very nice and generous people. Tay Za’s money is in fact not corupt or “dirty”, he is a very kind man and i certainly do not see many of the negative things he has been accused of being realistic. Tay Za is only doing what most people are doing, and that it earning a living for himself and his family and i assure you he is by no means doing so in a fashion which disrespects human rights and morals. It is a shame to see such a family targetted so negatively by ignorant people who clearly spoken before actually taking the time to properly understand the situation

ReplyDeleteIt is easy to see this email is a fake. Look at phrases like “sitting on the whole Burmese GDP”. It’s supposed to be a very informal email to close friends (the tone makes it sound like one). Would you say things like ‘the whole Burmese GDP’ in such emails?. Then comes ‘We’ve got timber, gems and gas’ to be sold to other ‘countries like Singapore, China, India and Russia’. Would you list things like that in such informal emails? “his red brand-new Lamborghini ” Why would he be so specific, red, brand-new (with a hyphen), Lamborghini (can you spell that)? And the car actually is not even red. “hot sexy Western chicks” Why Western chicks? Because the fake writer wanted to add an emotional word for his target audience from the west. Why did he make the age 19? Simple, to justify his attack on a minor. This is apparently the work of a Western journalist; only journalists write like this.
ReplyDeleteIt’s not any Myanmar tycoon who is helping the military government to hang on to their hold on Myanmar. They do not care if all the tycoons disappear suddenly. Their main supporters are the Americans and the Europeans. American energy company Chevron and French company Total are providing the military government with $3 billion per year.
The most beautiful thing they (US and EU) did is this. With the so-called targeted sanctions against private Myanmar companies, they turned the attention and anger of gullible people towards Myanmar companies. They listed over one thousand Myanmar companies for sanctions, but they left out all of their own companies and joint ventures with them.
You know, all the income form all other industries combined is less than 20% of what the Americans and the Europeans are providing the government.
Then they turned Myanmar against Myanmar. It’s a double whammy for them because when the Myanmar companies go out of business they will take over.
And they are saying times have changed. I do not think international politics have changed much. It’s the same old game of the times of East India Company.
I feel like something is wrong with the above two comments. To me, the first one is too detailed to be written by the close friend. Same thing with the second one. It seems to me that both of the comments are written by somebody from the same side.
ReplyDeletewth... this is all fake... i go to UWCSEA.. and i knew htet from day 1... hes not arrogant.. and he wouldnt say stuff like that in emails... and fyi whoever wrote this... people party and take photos.. just cuz a 'white' girl is kissing him it dusnt mean anything... yea hes rich, but hes not an arrogant, selfish, vain person... go get a life ppl
ReplyDeleteFuck the guy, and yes people write emails like that all the time when they are bragging to their friends. These are probably comments from his family or anyone who is tied to them. Leave me in a room with the fucking arrogant bastard, daddy can't help you there :) I'll make sure to get payback for EVERY Burmese person you guys have wronged... Little bitch
