The Origins of the Malays: This article asks "Is there really a race called the "Malays"?".

This is in response to a book titled "Contesting Malayness - Malay Identity Across Boundaries" that is written by Timothy P Barnard, Associate Professor for the Department of History at the National University of Singapore. In the book, A/P Timothy Barnard assembles research on the theme of how Malays have identified themselves in time and place
