Germany's Markus Fothen won the 190-kilometer fifth stage of the Tour of Switzerland on Wednesday, but the main talking point was the miraculous escape of fellow breakaway rider Franck Schleck of Luxembourg. The pair were four kilometers from the finish of the leg from Domat-Ems to Caslano when CSC rider Schleck lost control on a descent at approximately 60 kilometers per hour. TV cameras captured the moment as he skid into a metal crash barrier and somersaulted into what appeared to be a deep ravine. Fortunately, Schleck was able to pull himself back over the barrier, none the worse for the fall than a few cuts and bruises.Watch the video of the fall at Liveleak or YouTube.
