Ex-President Roh Moo-Hyun Dies: Former South Korean President Roh Moo-Hyun falls to death before bribery trial begins.
Former South Korean President Roh Moo-Hyun died on May 23 2009, South Korea's South Gyeongsang Police Agency announced that morning. He was 62 years old. The police agency said Roh fell from a hill in his hometown village in Gimhae, South Gyeongsang Province around 6:40 a.m. on May 23, 2009. Police said that Roh was immediately delivered to Seyoung Hospital in Gimhae around 7:05 a.m. that morning where he received CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) treatment. He was then sent to Pusan National University Hospital, but died of a cerebral hemorrhage sustained from the serious head injury.
In a press conference Mr. Moon Jae-In, Roh's former chief of staff, said,
Ex-President Roh jumped to his death from a hill in Bongha Village and died at 9:30 a.m. Roh left a 'brief' suicide note behind for his family.

Roh and some of his family members have been under investigation by the Seoul Prosecutor's Office for a bribery scandal where they were allegedly "receiving money from one of his friends."

The investigation included a $5 million bribery scandal involving one of Roh's friends, Mr. Park Yeon-Cha, a businessman and longtime supporter arrested last year on graft and tax evasion charges.

  1. May God rest his soul. Life is precious and if his soul was tortured enough where he felt he needed to take his own life, I can only imagine how difficult things had gotten for him in his own mind.

I pray for him and his family.
