Janet Jackson Pays Tribute To Brother Michael At BET Awards: "On Sunday night at the end of the BET Awards, Janet Jackson spoke publicly for the first time about the death of her beloved older brother, Michael."

In her speech, Janet said,

My entire family wanted to be here tonight, but it was too painful. To you, Michael is an icon. To us, Michael is family. He will forever live in all of our hearts. On behalf of my family and myself, thank you for all of your love, thank you for all of your support. We miss him so much. Thank you so much.

The BET Awards 2009 paid tribute to Michael Jackson.

New Edition, led by Bobby Brown, opened the show with "ABC". Then it was Jamie Foxx's turn. As host, the came onto the stage "Beat It" style. After that he attempted to moonwalk across the stage.

But it was Janet Jackson's speech that led many to tears. After which Jamie Foxx and Ne-Yo sang "I'll Be There".
