Patricia Mok is a victim and should not be laughed at, say her friends and industry insiders.
Earlier this week, the Singaporean actress had her bottom pinched at a club along Clarke Quay. Despite telling the culprit to stop, the molester continued to grope her private parts.
When news of the incident surfaced, netizens started making fun of the actress, expressing their shock that the culprit would pick her as a victim.
Appalled by the comments, her friends and colleagues were quick to defend her, saying that netizens should not fan the flames any further.
Popular DJ Anna Lim pointed out that people should differentiate between real and reel life.
She said: "On TV, Patricia looks like she's bold and brash - that's why everyone thinks that they can treat her like her screen persona, even to the extent of crossing her personal boundary."
Commenting on netizen's unfavourable remarks on Patricia's looks, fellow actress Aileen Tan said she felt that Patricia was a fashionable person who knew how to dress well.
Aileen said: "Patricia Mok may not look like (Taiwanese model) Lin Chi Ling, but she is an uncommon beauty."
