First New Images of the Apollo Landing Sites in 40 Years: NASA has released photos of the Apollo landing sites taken by the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO)



Monday (July 20) marks the 40th anniversary of the July 20, 1969, Apollo 11 moon landing by American astronauts Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins.



The Wall Street Journal has posted historic photos on its website. (more photos in the link)


The Apollo 11 flight crew were given instructions by technicians and management while undergoing training in preparation for the first manned landing on the Moon. (NASA)
