Auditor-General's report critical of lapses in procurement procedure, expenditure: The Auditor-General's report says that MDA has yet to refund $6M in unused or overpaid radio and TV license.

Ministries and government agencies have come under fire from the Auditor-General for lax procurement and contract management.

The Auditor-General's report for the financial year 2008/9, which was released on Tuesday highlighted millions of dollars that could have been spent more prudently.

The Media Development Authority of Singapore failed to collect an estimated S$9.89 million in revenue from joint projects with production companies, despite the projects being completed for some time.

And some people are owed money by the authority as it has yet to refund S$6 million in unused or overpaid radio and TV licences.
