24 years for sex fiend: Edwin Yap Chian Eng, a father of two boys, was jailed 24 years and 24 strokes of the cane for sexually assaulting 2 boys.

A SWIMMING coach sexually assaulted his six-year-old student at a condominium pool when they were alone together during their lessons.

Edwin Yap Chian Eng, 34, also badgered a nine-year-old boy in his neighbourhood and lured him into performing sexual acts on him - all for $5. He also recorded the lewd acts on his mobile phone.

The offences were committed between 2007 and 2008.

Yesterday, Yap, a father of two boys aged three and seven, was jailed for 24 years on four charges, including two for sexual assault. Three other similar charges were taken into consideration.

Justice Kan Ting Chiu did not mince his words as he sentenced Yap to jail and ordered him to be given 24 strokes of the cane.

'It's clear to me that the actions that have brought you before this court today are truly reprehensible,' he said.
