of plane crashes into ferris wheel in australia

Pilot, passenger safe after plane crashes into ferris wheel: The pilot of the light Cheetah S200 crashed the plane into a Ferris Wheel at the Old Bar Beach Festival held in Australia.

A pilot and passenger spent more than two hours stuck in a ferris wheel after their plane crashed into the ride at the Old Bar Beach Festival earlier today.

Two children – a nine-year-old boy and a 13-year-old girl - were on the fun ride at the time but miraculously escaped injury.

After 90 minutes emergency services safely removed the children.

The pilot of the light Cheetah S200, a 53-year-old Taree man, and his passenger, a 32-year-old Queensland man, were unhurt and were freed from the wreckage about 12.45pm.

A crane is currently being used to extract the plane from the ferris wheel. This is expected to take a few hours.

The road, however, has been re-opened.

Air Safety investigators will examine the circumstances surrounding the crash
