During the press conference, SMRT CEO Saw Phaik Hwa apologised for yesterday's train disruptions which caused trains to be down for almost five hours. Cause of the breakdown is still unknown.

Incident happened at 6.40pm. Announcements were made to 127,000 commuters affected. It was hard to get right information to people says MRT.

At 1847hrs the first train was affected. Announcements made as early as 1857hrs.. MRT emergency plan was activated

Only 1 train was damaged and person won;t be charged for breaking the glass panel

Four trains and some 4000 people were affected in the breakdown says MRT in terms of people stranded or de-trained

People should try to move away from congested areas in an emergency says MRT.
