Vanity Fair's Maureen Orth reports that in 2004, Scientology embarked on a project by Shelly Miscavige, wife of Scientology chief David Miscavige, to find a girlfriend for Tom Cruise. Iranian-born, London-raised actress and Scientologist, Nazanin Boniadi was reportedly "auditioned" for the part of Tom Cruise's real-life wife.
