of aaron swartz, tech prodigy, is dead at 26

Aaron Swartz, the internet whiz kid and Internet activist, died in his Brooklyn apartment. His girlfriend, Taren Stinebrickner-Kauffman, found Swartz’s body hanging from a belt. Swartz was 26 years old.



Aaron Swartz founded Demand Progress and co-authored the "RSS 1.0" specification of RSS. He also built Open Library, web.py and Infogami, a company that merged with Reddit.
