A certain Devina DeDiva recently posted on her Facebook page racist comments about the recent winner of the Miss World pageant, Miss Philippines. Referring to Filipinas as maids, Devina Dediva said that "they are poor, smelly from cleaning toilets and uneducated." She also said that "they are less privileged everywhere! M surprised one can win. What a joke those people cleaning our toilets won miss world."

Devina DeDiva has since closed her FB account. It was also reported that she created a new facebook account (juneangelica01). But that account was also deleted.

She has also lost her job as an assistant teacher from a school being run by Filipino supervisors.

Earlier reports stated that Devina DeDiva is a Singapore-based Indian studying at Manchester University in Indiana, USA. However, the University immediately cleared that Devina is not their student and the school would have never tolerated such insensitive action.

According to several posts by Filipino netizens on Twitter, Singapore-based Anthony Benedicto filed the police case against DeDiva, who was initially reported an Indian national working in the country.

Benedicto confirmed to the International Business Times (Australia Edition) on Friday that he indeed filed criminal charges against DeDiva and police has already started its investigation.
