Rare medal. That's what media calls Singapore's second medal.

Feng Tianwei, who, like the rest of the Singapore team, is an import from China, won both her singles matches to help them clinch a tense 3-2 victory.

Under The Multi-Million Dollar Awards Programme MAP (which is a incentive scheme to reward medal-winning athletes), a Gold medal in team event like table tennis guarantees the sportswomen S$1.5 million. A Silver medal is S$750,000.
