Launch of Single Character Domain Names: Singapore Network Information Centre announced the launch of single character domain names. Now you can own sites like a.sg or 1.com.sg.
On 12 November 2008, SGNIC announced the launch of single character domain names ("Allocation Exercise"). The Allocation Exercise will commence on 1 December 2008 and end on 27 March 2009. Applications are available across all the domain name categories, namely .sg, .com.sg, .org.sg, .net.sg, .edu.sg, .gov.sg, .per.sg. All applications must be submitted via SGNIC's accredited registrars from 1 December 2008 onwards and must reach SGNIC by 5pm, 9 January 2009.
