18-year-old teen, afraid of being arrested for stealing computer parts, threw some of them out of his bedroom window on the 13th floor.
HE TOOK home some computer parts that belonged to his school.
When his school teacher found out, she called his mother.
Furious, the woman, 47, berated her son and warned him that the police would cane him and that it would worsen his pre-existing spinal condition. And this was when Melvin Lai Zheng Ming, 18, panicked.
During his frenzied search for the items, he threw some of them out of his bedroom window on the 13th floor.
The items, which consisted of two computer cables, 62 metal brackets, one three-pin adapter, 10 central processing unit fans and one hard disk, nearly hit a man below.
The passer-by made a police report and Lai was arrested when police officers went to his flat in Anchorvale Drive soon after the incident.
