of anti-riot police
Sometimes when driving along Exeter Road, I see 2 anti-riot police buses parked along the side of the road. Usually in the evenings, parked outside Comcentre or outside Somerset MRT Station. The armed police personnel would be standing along the side of the road. Anyone spotted them or know why they are deployed there?
Wah. Chio lah. 2nd round of riots ah? Now what? Of LHL's pay too high ah? Hahahaha....
ReplyDeleteIstana is nearby... maybe some bigshot is going home??
ReplyDeleteJust in time...I just saw a bunch of riot police standing guard in a circle, wtaching over a group of noisy drunk thai men outside Lion City Hotel. I remember that at any one time, unless under special circumstances, there should not be more than 5 or 12 people in a group otherwise it will be considered as an "Illegal Gathering" under the eyes of Singapore Law.
ReplyDeletejasper chen: No riots leh. But I've seen them there more than once. Cannot be everytime got riot.
ReplyDeletejkaiser: 2 buses of policemen. The kaya toast shop sure happy happy. Got so many customer.
yl: Some other big shot house nearer than Istana. Maybe it's for him. :)
averilchan: Fwah like that also deploy riot police.
I suppose they are there to deter would-be terrorists or rioters or gangsters eager to create some mayhem by starting some gangfights. With these ominous "ang-chia" around, any ah beng would think twice about creating some trouble.
ReplyDeletemichael chua: not only ah beng. Anyone would also think twice. :)
ReplyDeleteAnd ya, I would like to add that our Singaporean men in uniforms are fwwwwwwwaaaahhhh HOT HOT HOT...
ReplyDeleteaverilchan: With weapon lagi hot hot hot right?
