Celebrity disc jockey Adam Goldstein, known as DJ AM, was found dead Friday evening in his New York City apartment, and media reports say drug paraphernalia was found nearby. Paramedics had to break down the door to his Manhattan apartment before they found his body at about 5:20 p.m., a law enforcement official told The Associated Press on condition of anonymity. There was no evidence of foul play, the official said. Goldstein had talked openly about past addictions to crack cocaine, Ecstasy and other drugs, but he claimed he had been drug-free for years.
TMZ reports that "DJ AM had been "completely devastated" over a recent breakup with his girlfriend, Hayley Wood."

On September 19 2008, DJ AM survived a plane crash that killed four people and seriously injuring Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker.

DJ AM became a DJ celebrity performing at Hollywood's most exclusive parties. He also had high-profile romances, including with Nicole Richie and Mandy Moore.

And from Anorak, this is DJ AM's last tweet to Travis Barker on his twitter page. His tweet reads,
New york, new york. Big city of dreams, but everything in new york aint always what it seems.

If Twitter is looking for the business model to turn clicks into currency, it should advertise itself as publicist to the stars.

On Twitter, the stars come out of grieve in, er, private?

LINDSAY LOHAN: “I can’t believe this.. i’m in shock. why? why? r.i.p. adam.”

P.DIDD: “DJ AM rest in peace.”

KELLY OSBOURNE: “I just cant believe that adam (dj.am) is gone i dont want to believe it im in shock. he was one of the most genuine people i have ever met!”

  2. It was sad to hear, he was still so young. I pray that God comforts his family in their time of grief.
