Photos of USC students caught having roof sex going viral
Two USC students find themselves the subjects of a porn-y, virtual photo album going viral after indulging in a little al fresco lovemaking on the roof of Waite Phillips Hall on campus. The album, posted Saturday night by a right place/right time voyeur, has received over 100,000 hits already, and led to the Kappa Sigma frat brother's suspension.
According to the Daily Trojan (no condom jokes in this piece), a meeting between the Interfraternity Council and Panhellenic Council of USC will take place to determine what steps should be taken in response to the incident. One can only hope that this was at least consensual, and not part of some sick hazing ritual, like we've been seeing lately. And where was Donald Glover Saturday night?

Alaska Airlines, Horizon Air cancel flights because of computer problems
Alaska Airlines and its Horizon Air affiliate are canceling dozens of flights today because their computer system failed.
Seattle-based Alaska Airlines flies to cities in the U.S., focusing on the West Coast, and to Canada and Mexico.
Company spokesman Paul McElroy says the two airlines canceled 60 flights Saturday morning, six hours after the outage started. The airline will rebook passengers without a fee. It says customers should call the airline to check on their flight before going to the airport. McElroy says the airline has been able to operate about 20 flights during the day. He says the cause of the computer problem isn't known but technicians are working on it.

The F1 movable rear wing 'Drag Reduction System' explained
There is an actuator in each wing which is under the control of the driver at all times, however, it can only be used when the on‐board electronics (FIA ECU) notify the driver that he is authorised to use it.
Proximity to the car in front will be detected before the straight on which the wing may be activated, if the car behind is less than one second behind (as judged by the installed timing loops in the track) the driver will be told that his system is “armed”, however, he may only use it when he reaches the designated point on the following straight. This point is likely to be 600 metres before the braking point for the following corner, this may however be adjusted according data gathered during testing and practice.

Invincible Vettel wins with ease in Melbourne: Sebastian Vettel finished 22 seconds ahead of Lewis Hamilton. Vitaly Petrov came in third to earn Renault a podium finish.
Red Bull’s Sebastian Vettel got his world championship defence off to the best possible start in Albert Park on Sunday evening. The German beat Lewis Hamilton’s KERS-assisted rush as they had a drag race to the first corner, and thereafter that was all she wrote.
Vettel was 2.4s ahead at the end of the opening lap, and simply controlled the pace to win by 22.2s after a problem with the floor of Hamilton’s McLaren caused an off-course moment in Turn One on Lap 32 and cost him some downforce.
At times the Englishman was able to match Vettel’s pace and he did a better job controlling his tyres in the first part, as both ran two-stop strategies in a race in which all the gloomy predictions about Pirelli’s tyres proved completely unfounded.

Geraldine Ferraro, first female veep nominee, dies
Geraldine Ferraro, the first woman nominated for U.S. vice president by a major political party, died today at age 75 after a long battle with blood cancer.
Ferraro ran with Democratic nominee Walter Mondale in the 1984 election; they lost to President Ronald Reagan and running mate George H.W. Bush.

Another American Apparel worker suing company CEO Dov Charney for sexual harassment also appeared in dozens of dirty pictures -- this time with the randy clothier himself taking the saucy snaps during an X-rated job interview.
Kimbra Lo, 19, is seen in some shots splayed on the bed with her eyes closed and head tossed back.
The hipster clothing-company boss took a total of 69 pictures during the Dec. 9 meeting at his Los Angeles mansion, and his lawyers say they tarnish claims he is the predator Lo describes in court papers.
The provocative new photos were revealed a day after The Post obtained a litany of raunchy pictures and e-mails that another alleged sexual-harassment victim, Irene Morales, 20, apparently sent to Charney.

Wyclef Jean Shot in Haiti, Management Confirms Shooting + Photo of Wyclef in Hospital: Wyclef Jean was shot by gunmen in Delams Haiti. Armed gunmen opened fire at Wyclef's car during the presidential campaign. Jean was in the car with fellow rapper Busta Rhymes, Jimmy Rosemond and other members of his entourage. No one else was injured.

Elin Nordegren's New Home. $12.2 Million Florida Mansion : Elin Nordegren has bought a $12.2 million mansion near Tiger Woods' new pad in Jupiter, Florida. The former couple agreed to live near each other for the sake of their two children.
Elin Nordegren has plunked down $12.2 million of her $110 million settlement for a 17,178-square-foot beach-front property in North Palm Beach, just 10 miles from Tiger's new pad in Jupiter, Fla.
According to Palm Beach County records, Nordegren bought the two-story mansion--which boasts eight bathrooms and a 4,700-square-foot basement--in February through one of her divorce lawyers, Dennis Belcher.

Retractable kitchen island controlled by iPhone - Yep, there's an app for that!
This is my kitchen island, below is an unfinished utility/storage room. A hydraulic scissor lift is at bolted to the cement, and then a small frame is built on top of the scissor lift table. On top of that is a subfloor, flooring, and then the island. The cabinet doors are on the other side, and have safety push button switches that kill the electricity from the Smart Home Insteon switches, and prevent it from moving when the doors are not fully closed. This lift can easily lift over 1,500lbs, so it was an important safety feature! Please comment if you are interested in seeing the inner workings of this.

It's not the most conventional of solutions to a persistent fault with your £500,000 super car, but one Chinese businessman decided enough was enough.
He ordered a group of men to smash up his Lamborghini using sledgehammers after the dealership failed to fix a recurring problem.
He became so frustrated with the service he received that he decided to show his anger in the most extreme fashion.
He hired a group of men from China's eastern Shandong province, gave them sledgehammer and let them get on with smashing up the Italian sports car.

A UCLA student whose viral "Asians in the Library" YouTube video sparked a campus backlash and condemnation from the school's chancellor has received multiple death threats, the Daily Bruin reported.
Alexandra Wallace issued a statement to the campus newspaper on Monday, issuing an apology to the "entire UCLA campus."
"Clearly the original video posted by me was inappropriate," she said in the statement. "I cannot explain what possessed me to approach the subject as I did, and if I could undo it, I would."
In the the video, she suggests that Asians don't have manners and she also mocks students using a derogatory, fake Asian accent.
UCLA spokesman Phil Hampton has said university officials are evaluating whether the student may have violated the school's code of conduct and, if so, what possible discipline she could face.
Chancellor Gene Block's Facebook page was filled with dozens of messages -- many from students and alumni.
Some messages asked Block to expel her. Others suggested sensitivity training and cautioned against death threats and inappropriate behavior.

Following in the footsteps of H&M and Uniqlo, American casual wear brand Abercrombie & Fitch (A&F) will be setting up its first store in Singapore in the third quarter of 2011.
