European Farmers’ Anger Spills Into the Streets of Brussels: Picture of a farmer spraying milk on policemen during a protest against falling milk prices. The protest took place outside the E.U. headquarters in Brussels.

After months of complaints by European dairy farmers angry over low prices, protesters in Brussels on Monday poured milk onto the streets, hurled eggs and other missiles, and started fires that filled the air with black smoke.

Police helicopters hovered overhead as hundreds of tractors — and some cattle — blockaded the area outside the European Union’s headquarters while agriculture ministers met in an emergency meeting.

The gathering of ministers, convened after pressure from France, failed to produce any breakthroughs apart from a decision to set up a committee to report on the dairy industry in June.

Monday’s protest was the latest by farmers who dumped around three million liters of milk on fields in Belgium last month.

TV licence fee among world's lowest: Media Development Authority director of Customer & Licensing Services, Ms Pam Hu, replies to an Straits Times letter and said that Singapore's TV License Fee is "lowest in the world, even as the cost of producing Public Service Broadcast (PSB) programmes has risen over the years"
WE REFER to Mr Lee Kwun Lam's letter last Friday, 'Lopsided?'. Mr Lee had compared the costs of property taxes and TV licence fee. Both forms of fees, however, are imposed on separate utilities and are subject to different considerations. Thus, to make a direct comparison between the two would not be meaningful.

The TV licence fee of $110 has remained unchanged since Jan 1, 1994. It is among the lowest in the world, even as the cost of producing Public Service Broadcast (PSB) programmes has risen over the years, and there are more free-to-air (FTA) TV channels today for consumers to enjoy.
Someone in HWZ listed out the countries that has abolished the TV License Fee or had never had a TV License Fee (Malaysia, Australia, Belgium, Hungary, India, New Zealand amongst others).

Following the publication last week of the best ever photos of the ovulation of a human egg, we now go, Fantastic Voyage-like, to the first video footage of the moment itself.

To record the sequence, Stephan Gordts and Ivo Brosens of the Leuven Institute for Fertility & Embryology in Belgium performed transvaginal laparoscopy, which involves making a small cut in the vaginal wall and observing the ovary with an endoscope.
Watch the video. Human ovulation captured on film: Belgian researchers have captured ovulation on film for the first time.
