Eminem's Daughter Hailie, 15, Is a Surprisingly Positive Tweeter: Eminem's daughter, Hailie Jade Mathers, tweets at Angry_Blonde.
Eminem's music has always been filled with two figures -- Kim, the wife he married and divorced twice and has rapped about at length (often violently), and Hailie, Eminem's daughter, now 15.

While the 38-year-old Marshall Mathers comes off a bit unhinged when it comes to songs about the unhealthy sounding love of his life, his references to Hailie Jade Mathers always seem more positive, like he might be a great dad.

Top Singapore officials trash the neighbours : WikiLeaks has leaked cables to The Sunday Age detailing contents of meetings between senior US officials and Singapore's foreign affairs chiefs Peter Ho, Bilahari Kausikan and Tommy Goh.

The cables covered conversations of meetings:
- March 2008, between Mr Peter Ho and an unnamed US official about Mahathir Mohamad and Abdullah Badawi.
- September 2008, between Mr Kausikan and US Deputy Secretary of Defence for East Asia David Sedney. In this meeting Mr Kausikan talked about Malaysia and Dato' Sri Najib Razak. He also talked about Thailand, Thaksin Shinawatra and the Thai Crown Prince. Other issues he talked about covered: Burma and its neighbours (China and India). The Nuclear-capable North Korea. Russia and its economy.
- September 2009, Professor Tommy Goh and US senior officials about Japan, China and India.
According to one cable detailing a meeting in September 2008, Mr Kausikan told US Deputy Secretary of Defence for East Asia David Sedney that ”the situation in neighbouring Malaysia is confused and dangerous”, fuelled by a ”distinct possibility of racial conflict” that could see ethnic Chinese ”flee” Malaysia and ”overwhelm” Singapore.

”A lack of competent leadership is a real problem for Malaysia,” Mr Kausikan said, citing the need for Najib Razak – now Malaysia’s Prime Minister – to ”prevail politically in order to avoid prosecution” in connection with a 2006 murder investigation linked to one of Mr Razak’s aides.

”Najib Razak has his neck on the line in connection with a high-profile murder case,” Mr Kausikan said.

Mr Ho’s March 2008 assessment of Malaysia, given to another US official, is also unflattering, and includes claims that former prime minister Mahathir Mohamad has been ”throwing stones” at his replacement, Abdullah Badawi.

”The political knives will be out for Abdullah’s son-in-law, United Malays National Organisation politician Khairy Jamaluddin, whom nobody likes because he got where he is through family ties,” the cable records Mr Ho saying. ”As for … Najib Razak, he is an opportunist. Although he has not been critical of Singapore, he will not hesitate to go in that direction if it is expedient for him to do so. Najib’s political fortunes continue to be haunted by the … murder scandal.”

In his September 2008 meeting with Mr Sedney, Mr Kausikan savages Thailand’s political elite, labelling Thaksin Shinawatra as ”corrupt” along with ”everyone else, including the opposition”.

Mr Kausikan is also critical of Thaksin’s relationship with the Thai crown prince, stating that Thaksin ”made a mistake in pursuing a relationship with the crown prince by paying off the crown prince’s gambling debts”.

”Kausikan said the crown prince was ‘very erratic, and easily subject to influence’,” the cable states, while also saying that Mr Kausikan warned of continued instability in Thailand.

In a September 2009 meeting with US officials, senior Singaporean foreign affairs official Tommy Koh savages Japan and India in relation to the impact on both countries of China’s increasing regional might.

”Koh described Japan as ‘the big fat loser’ in the context of improving ties between China and ASEAN. He attributed the relative decline of Japan’s stature in the region to Japan’s ‘stupidity, bad leadership, and lack of vision’,” the cable says.

”He was equally merciless towards India, describing his ‘stupid Indian friends’ as ‘half in, half out’ of ASEAN.”

Other notable comments about regional affairs made by Mr Kausikan in September 2008 include his reported claims that:

■ Burma’s neighbours, including China and India, are ”more concerned with stability than justice” and they feared the Burmese junta’s demise could produce ”an Asian reprise of the breakup of Yugoslavia”.

■ He would be ”more comfortable with a nuclear-capable North Korea, than a nuclear-capable Iran”.

■ Russia’s economy is ”Third World”, its health system a shambles and its demographic challenges almost insurmountable.

Mr Koh is recorded praising China’s ”investment and intelligent diplomacy in the region”.

”I don’t fear China. I don’t fear being assimilated by China,” the cable states that Mr Koh said, while he pointed to China’s decision to invest in Africa ”without lecturing them about human rights and democracy as the West does”.

Hong Kong diagnoses first human bird flu case in 7 years: Hong Kong has diagnosed the first human case of bird flu in seven years.
The first human case of bird flu in seven years has been diagnosed in Hong Kong, health officials said Thursday, urging the public to take precautions. A 59-year-old woman was hospitalized in serious condition after a trip to mainland China, the Hong Kong Department of Health said.

Her illness was diagnosed as influenza A (H5), a variant of bird flu. It was unclear where she had contracted the disease. She did not have any contact with live poultry and did not visit farms while in China, Hong Kong health officials said. Her 60-year-old husband developed possible symptoms of bird flu, but has recovered.

Hong Kong health officials have stepped up surveillance by testing patients with severe pneumonia for bird flu. They also have launched a hotline to answer questions from the public, and are working with health officials in mainland China to monitor any occurrences.

Ralph Lauren model Filippa Hamilton: I was fired because I was too fat!: Filippa Hamilton said her contract was terminated in April because she was 'overweight'. In a recent altered (or photoshopped) Ralph Lauren ad, the model's hips appeared slimmer than her head. The 5-foot-10, 120-pound Hamilton has worked for Ralph Lauren since 2002 and considered the company like a second family.

Filippa Hamilton says she was fired for being 'overweight.' The Ralph Lauren ad on the right
Ralph Lauren's clothing company fired the model whose body looked emaciated in a touched-up ad because she weighed too much, the woman told the Daily News Tuesday.

Filippa Hamilton - whose hips appeared slimmer than her head in the recent altered ad - said her contract was terminated in April because she was too heavy
Filippa said,
They fired me because they said I was overweight and I couldn't fit in their clothes anymore. I was shocked to see that super skinny girl with my face. It's very sad, I think, that Ralph Lauren could do something like that. I think they owe American women an apology, a big apology. I'm very proud of what I look like, and I think a role model should look healthy.

Gas mask bra honoured with IgNobel prize: The 2009 Ig Nobel Prizes were awarded at the 19th First Annual Ig Nobel Prize Ceremony held at Harvard University's Sanders Theatre. The Ig Nobel awards is a cheeky counterpoint to the Nobel prizes given out by the Harvard-based magazine Annals of Improbable Research. This year, Dr Elena Bodnar won the Public Health prize for their patented design: Gas mask bra, a brassiere that can be quickly converted into a pair of face masks in event of an emergency. One for the brassiere wearer and the other to a needy bystander.

Guilty of credit card fraud: my paper reports that Miss Singapore World, Ris Low, was sentenced in May this year to 24 months of supervised probation for credit-card fraud. The beauty queen was convicted of five charges of misappropriation, cheating using illegally obtained credit cards, and impersonating their users' identities.
Court documents show that Miss Low spent a total of more than $2,400 on at least four separate occasions, using at least three different credit cards in April and May last year.

my paper understands that her previous employer, a health-care company, made a police report about her in April last year.

It suspected that Miss Low, who worked there for five months as a patient-service assistant, had used credit cards belonging to its patients. It asked her to leave the following month.

Before leaving, she was said to have returned a part - an unspecified sum - of the total amount she had spent using the cards.

When contacted, Miss Low, now a student, said that she was "not in a position to comment".

The international Miss World pageant will be held in Johannesburg, South Africa, in December. It is unclear whether Miss Low will be allowed to leave the country to take part in it.

House Admonishes Wilson for Outburst: The House voted to admonish Republican Joe Wilson for his outburst during President Barack Obama's speech on Sept. 9. During Obama's speech, Joe Wilson shouted "You lie!".

Bitterly divided along party lines, the House formally rebuked Republican Rep. Joe Wilson Tuesday for shouting "You lie" at President Barack Obama during last week's nationally televised speech to Congress.

The rare resolution of disapproval was pushed through by Democrats insisting that Wilson, a South Carolina lawmaker, had violated basic rules of decorum and civility in his outburst. Republicans dismissed the vote as a political "witch hunt" and a waste of precious time and taxpayers' money.

Wilson's "You lie" outburst came as Obama said that illegal immigrants would not be eligible for federal subsidies to purchase health insurance under his overhaul plan. Democrats have insisted that their proposals prohibit undocumented immigrants from getting assistance. Republicans say the legislation needs stronger verification requirements.

Michigan Mom Found Long-Lost Son Online, Raped Him: Aimee Louise Sword used the internet to track down her son she gave up for adoption 10 years ago. She then seduces and rapes the teenage boy.

Aimee Louise Sword, 35, has been charged with criminal sexual conduct for the alleged rape of her son, a minor living in Michigan.
Michigan police say a 35-year-old mother used the Internet to track down the son she gave up for adoption a decade ago, seducing and raping the teenage boy when she found him after an online search.

Aimee Louise Sword of Waterford Township, near Detroit, was arraigned this week on three charges of criminal sexual conduct for the alleged rape of her biological son, whom she put up for adoption more than 10 years ago, MyFOXDetroit reported.

Prosecutors say the boy is still a minor, but won't disclose whether he knew the woman was his mother — a situation that has horrified mental health experts who are calling the case "an abomination."

T.G.I.Thursday: Utah state workers shifted to a 4-day week one year ago. 10 hour a day, four day a week.

Now GOOD reports that having 4-day work week helps.
1: Energy savings and reduction in carbon emissions
Closing state offices on Fridays has cut energy use by 13 percent in Utah.

2: Traffic reduction and commuter health
Of course, as fewer workers commute on any given day, there’s less traffic. But the hour shift for the four-day crew also thins out the traditional rush hours, speeding up travel for everyone.

3: Budget boost
There are big savings to be had in operational costs when shaving a day off the workweek. As of May, nine months into the program, Utah had saved $1.8 million.

4: Happier, healthier workforce
Lori Wadsworth, a researcher at Brigham Young University, surveyed Utah workers who’ve transitioned to the 4 x 10 schedule and found that 82 percent prefer it.

5: Economic stimulus through savings
It costs money to go to work—commuting expenses like gas, tolls, or public transit fares are obvious, but plenty of workers also pay for five days of childcare every week.

Tyler Treated For Head, Neck And Shoulder Injuries: Steven Tyler, Aerosmith singer, was rushed to the Rapid City Regional Hospital after falling off the stage during a live performance at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. Tyler was dancing during their track "Love in an Elevator" at the 69th Annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally but got too near to the edge of the stage. He suffered head, neck and shoulder injuries. (Watch the video here)
The seriousness of the 61-year-old singer's injuries was unknown as WENN went to press, but Mike Sanborn, spokesman for the concert venue, reveals Tyler was fully conscious when he was taken to the medical center.

Sanborn says, "He was good-natured about it (the fall). He was in good spirits when he got in the helicopter. He was talking and joking with the physician."

The freak accident is the latest in a string of health-based setbacks to have plagued the group's U.S. tour. Tyler canceled a series of gigs after he suffered a leg injury, while bandmate Brad Whitford was forced to step down from touring duties after undergoing surgery for a burst blood vessel. The group pulled out of a planned tour in 2008 and dates earlier this year to allow guitarist Joe Perry to recover from knee surgery.

Hong Kong reports new H3N2 flu variant: Hong Kong has found a new variant of the H3N2 seasonal influenza virus, a direct descendant of the Brisbane strain.
Hong Kong has found a new variant of the H3N2 seasonal influenza virus, the spokesman for the Centre for Health Protection (CHP) said on Wednesday, urging high-risk groups to get influenza vaccinations. The new variant is direct descendent of the Brisbane strain which has been the prevalent circulating strain of H3N2 in the past year in Hong Kong, CHP Controller Dr Thomas Tsang said.

However, it has some genetic changes distinguishing it from the old Brisbane strain. Overseas health authorities, including those in Canada, Britain and Australia, have also found the new variant. There is no evidence showing that the H3 variant circulating in Hong Kong is more severe and resistant to oseltamivir (Tamiflu).

Thin is in for Singapore youth: Fauzi Rassull is a slim 20-year-old blogger, popular among Singapore's fashionable youngsters, who flaunts his 1.73-metre (5-foot 8-inch), 60-kilogram (132-pound) frame in glamour shots splashed on his sites.
Followers share tips on eating and Fauzi himself swears by his regimen of two meals a day consisting of bread, instant noodles and salad.

Thanks in part to anti-fat advocates like Fauzi, thin is in among Singapore teens and young adults, but experts warn that the fad is behind a worrying spike in the number of people developing eating disorders.

"I don't see myself as thin, I don't think I'm thin now," he insisted, saying he was aiming to cut his weight down to 53 kilograms.

Fauzi's dream weight would put him below the healthy range of the Body Mass Index (BMI) system used in many countries to measure fat.

At that weight, Fauzi, who does not hold a regular job and sells ads on his blog, would be risking "nutritional deficiency diseases and osteoporosis" based on the BMI scale of the Singapore Health Promotion Board, a government agency.

Fauzi, whose blog "The Male Bitch" was voted Singapore's most popular blog for four consecutive weeks in 2009, denies he is encouraging anorexia, which afflicts many Asian youngsters.

Top 10 Horniest Countries in the World: Re-visit of a survey conducted by AskMen.com on the top 10 horniest countries. The countries were ranked in line with a Durex sex survey. The higher a country appears on the list, the more of its citizens are having sex. The survey was published in the magazine in December last year.

Coming in first was Greece, followed by (ranked 2) Brazil, (3) Russia, (4) China, (5) Poland, (6) Italy, (7) Malaysia, (8) Spain, (9) Switzerland and lastly (10) Mexico.

For Malaysia, the survey reads,
In public, this country definitely appears conservative. For example, there was a recent controversy over whether sex education should be taught in high school or not -- not exactly sexually liberated. However, behind closed doors lies (pun totally intended) the real story: Malaysians are swinging from the bedposts, and loving every minute of it. Occasionally we'll get a glimpse of it - like when Malaysia's Minister of Health was forced to step down after his homemade sex tapes made the rounds in January of 2008.

Horny hangouts: In Kuala Lumpur, check out these bars and clubs for a straightforward party: Aloha, Poppy Bar or the Rum Jungle. To “choose your own adventure” visit the Beach Club where there’s a good chance a girl comes at a price, but she'll be worth every penny.
For China,
The more China’s Cultural Revolution thaws, the more its sexual revolution heats up. Want proof? Just in the past eight years, 5,000 sex shops have opened in Beijing alone. Plus, China even has a SEXPO, where Chinese residents come to check out sex paraphernalia. And with 70% of the world’s sex toys made in China, its horniest country status means that a good deal of their hard work won't have to go very far.

Horny hangouts: If you're visiting Shanghai, you need to check out these better-known spots: Bar Rouge, Zapata’s and Windows. If you're in Beijing, you’ve got a few options: Visit the Sanlitun Lu District, often dubbed “bar street” for all its action. For the tried-and-true joints check out Bar Blu, Suzie Wong and Brown’s, all renowned meat markets. And for your seedier pick you need to head to Maggie’s, a popular nightclub known for its working girls.
