Whale Kills Female Trainer At SeaWorld's Shamu Stadium: Dawn Brancheau, a senior trainer at Shamu Stadium SeaWorld Orlando, was attacked by Tillikum, a male killer whale, in front of a group of spectators.

A killer whale attacked and killed a 40-year-old trainer in front of a horrified audience at a SeaWorld show Wednesday, with witnesses saying the animal involved in two previous deaths dragged the trainer under and thrashed her around violently.

“It is with great sadness that I report that one of our most experienced animal trainers drowned in an incident with one of our killer whales this afternoon. We’ve initiated an investigation to determine, to the extent possible, what occurred. There are no other details to report at this time,” SeaWorld GM Dan Brown said Wednesday afternoon.

Veteran trainer Dawn Brancheau, 40, was one of the park's most experienced. It wasn't clear if she drowned or died from the thrashing.

Von Hagens now plans to put just the most intimate body parts on show to get round the decency ban. Critics say the beheading shows he doesn't care about the dignity of the volunteers who agree to be exhibited after death, and is just chasing more publicity.

Italian accused of Brazil groping: Italian tourist was arrested in Brazil after kissing his 8-year-old daughter in public.

Witnesses told police the man allegedly touched the girl in an intimate way.

Under a strict new law partly designed to combat child sex abuse in South America's largest country, he faces eight to 15 years in jail if convicted.

The Italian tourist, a 48-year-old businessman, was arrested on 2 September in the coastal city of Fortaleza, in the north-east of Brazil, where he was on holiday with his wife and daughter.

He was reported to the police by a Brazilian couple who claimed he had been touching a young girl inappropriately and had kissed her on the mouth while they were both at a swimming pool close to the beach in full view of other tourists.

Great Grandmother’s Ghost - Cellphone Picture: Great Grandmother's ghost appears in kid's cellphone picture! See the photo below.

Kasey was babysitting and taking photos of her 22 month-old niece Penny with her cellphone and noticed an old woman in the background. Kasey and Penny were the only ones home at the time.

So…a co-worker of ours, Lisa, brought this to our attention the other day. Turns out Lisa’s babysitter, a teenager named Kasey,was babysitting her niece, Penny (age 22 months), last week and snapped several pictures of the little girl with her phone cam. A couple days later, Kasey was going through the images and noticed there was someone behind her niece in one of the photos. This is what has us spooked: Kasey and Penny were the only ones home at the time. The image does not appear in any of the other photos she took! After sharing the image with other family members, no one initially recognized the face (of the older woman) appearing in this photo.

Utah 7-Year-Old Steals Car To Avoid Church: The Weber County Sheriff's Office has released a video of a 7-year-old boy who took the family car and led police on a low-speed chase...just to avoid going to church. The boy told deputies it was just too hot to go to church, so he went for a joyride. See the video below.

Dispatchers received reports of a child driving recklessly on Sunday morning. Weber County Sheriff's Capt. Klint Anderson says one witness said the boy drove through a stop sign.

Anderson says two deputies caught up with the boy and tried unsuccessfully to stop the Dodge Intrepid in an area about 45 miles north of Salt Lake City. The car reached 40 mph before the boy stopped in a driveway and ran inside a home.

Anderson says when the boy's father later confronted him, the boy said he didn't want to go to church. The boy is too young to prosecute and no citations were issued, although police did urge the father to make his car keys more inaccessible to children.

Still shot of convenience store murderer released : Dilipbhai Babubhai "Danny" Patel, 51,was killed around 9 p.m. Wednesday during an apparent armed robbery. He was pronounced dead at the scene after being shot multiple times with a handgun, according to Sheriff Bill Massee. The incident took place inside Patel's store – Lina Food Store– which is located on Irwinton Road near the bypass intersection.

On Tuesday, the Baldwin County Sheriff's Office released a still shot taken from a surveillance camera inside Lina's. The picture shows a black male pointing a gun while wearing a gray shirt, Atlanta Braves cap, thick sunglasses and black pants. The man likely is between 5-foot-9 and 6-feet tall and a slightly heavier build.

If the man looks familiar, please call the BCSO at 445-4891.

A Lina's employee reportedly was working outside of the store at the time of the incident and was not harmed. A second witness also was in the area.

The gunman is described as a black male with a gray shirt and black pants. The man reportedly fled the scene in a tan Toyota Camry heading north on Irwinton Road and back towards town.

Helicopter Crashes at NATO's Largest Base in Afghanistan

A Russian-owned civilian helicopter crashed during takeoff at southern Afghanistan's largest NATO base Sunday, killing 16 civilians in the latest in a string of deadly aircraft crashes in the country. A U.S. military helicopter also made an emergency landing in the country's east. A military spokeswoman said there was no insurgent fire involved.

There were no indications that the crash of the Mi-8 helicopter at southern Kandahar Air Field was caused by hostile fire, military officials said. A NATO statement said 16 people died in the crash and that the conditions of five additional casualties weren't immediately known.

No military personnel were wounded or killed, NATO said.

A prison officer claims she was hounded out of her job by repeated criticism for being 'too sexy' and 'glammed up'. Amitjo Kajla, 22, is demanding compensation from Justice Secretary Jack Straw. The 5ft officer told an employment tribunal how colleagues complained that she wore too much make-up and that her clothing was more revealing than the standard-issue uniform, which had to be adapted to her tiny size-four frame.

Miss Kajla claimed she was called a 'stupid little girl' by a senior colleague for putting her security at risk by sitting with prisoners during their 'free association' period. She added that she was mocked by staff at Brinsford Young Offenders' Institution, in Featherstone, Staffordshire, for carrying a handbag and reprimanded for waving and saying 'hello' to inmates. The remarks, often made in front of inmates and other staff, made her feel harassed and humiliated, she told the tribunal. 'I couldn't sleep at night because of the bullying and harassment. I lost weight and decided I couldn't take it any longer and resigned.'

Miss Kajla, from Wolverhampton, is claiming compensation for constructive unfair dismissal.

First New Images of the Apollo Landing Sites in 40 Years: NASA has released photos of the Apollo landing sites taken by the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO)

Monday (July 20) marks the 40th anniversary of the July 20, 1969, Apollo 11 moon landing by American astronauts Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins.

Tsunami warning canceled after New Zealand quake: The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center says a tsunami generated after a 7.8-magnitude earthquake off of New Zealand is small and poses no threat.

The warning center says no destructive waves are headed for New Zealand's western coastline after a tsunami warning was issued earlier.

The waves generated are less than 8 inches (20 centimeters) in height and the warning was canceled after about an hour.

The quake's epicenter was 100 miles (161 kilometers) west of Invercargill, off the west coast of New Zealand's South Island at a depth of 21 miles (33 kilometers). It hit at 0922 GMT on Wednesday, the USGS said.

Gibraltar Airport - a very unusual airport. WTF

Gibraltar Airport (which is not part of Spain as a lot of readers pointed out) is a very unusual airport. To my knowledge, it is the only one where the runway actually intersects with a major highway. When a plane has to take off or land, traffic is shut down.

Couple With 16 Kids Found Dead!: Byrd & Melanie Billings Found Shot (VIDEO): Byrd and Melanie Billings were shot dead at their Florida home. The couple leaves behind their 16 kids, 12 of the children are adopted.

The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office is looking for three men that shot and killed the mother and father of 16 children during a home invasion and robbery. Byrd and Melanie Billings were shot dead at their Florida home. Byrd and Melanie Billings were shot just before eight p.m. Thursday night at their home on Mobile Highway in the Beulah Community. Beulah is around 17 miles northwest of Pensacola, near the Alabama and Florida state line.

Police have reported eight of the children, ages 8-14, were home when the couple was shot. One of the kids heard the gunshots and called a friend of the family. Sheriff’s Office spokesman Sgt. Ted Roy says one of them parents was shot in the head.

The Billings have 16 children. Twelve of the children are adopted, many of these kids have special needs.

ImageShack Hacked by Anti-sec Movement: ImageShack was hacked.

ImageShack, one of the web’s largest image hosts, was attacked tonight by a movement called “Anti-Sec”. The result of the attack has been to replace all ImageShack hosted images with a manifesto for the movement (below). The message adds that “no images were harmed in the making of this…image”, implying that ImageShack images are not lost.
