A gunman opened fire in a Swiss company, killing two others and himself. Seven others were also injured.

The local Neue Luzerner Zeitung newspaper reports that the gunman was an employee of Kronospan (Kronoswiss), a wood-processing company in the small town of Menznau, west of Lucerne. The 42-year-old gunman worked as a machine operator at the company and had developed psychological problems for some time, some employers observed.

UBS CEO Resigns
Rogue trader Kweku Adoboli won't be the only person to lose his job over the scandal. UBS chief executive Osawld Gruebel has resigned over the $2.3 billion loss. UBS Europe chief Sergio Ermotti will take over as interim chief executive until a replacement is found. The Swiss bank's president, Kaspar Villiger, said the board regretted Gruebel's decision but will accept it. "Oswald Gruebel feels that it is his duty to assume responsibility for the recent unauthorized trading incident," Villiger said in a statement. "He steps down having helped make UBS one of the world's best capitalized banks.” The bank also says it is putting measures in place to prevent another rogue trading loss from happening.
Swiss media speculation had been mounting that Gruebel would be ousted at the long-scheduled UBS board meeting held in Singapore in the run-up to Sunday's Grand Prix -- the bank is a major sponsor of Formula One racing.
Reports said Gruebel was expected to seek a vote of confidence during the meeting, with the bank under pressure from shareholders and some Swiss politicians over the rogue-trading scandal.

But Villiger, shortly after the statement was released, told journalists the UBS board did not want Gruebel to step down immediately, and would have preferred he stayed on until a key shareholders' meeting, set for the spring of next year.

But for Grubel, staying on until next year would not have sent a strong enough signal regarding his responsibility for the scandal, and so he chose to resign now, Villiger explained by phone from Singapore.

Robert "Mutt" Lange and Shania Twain Officially Divorced; Singer Seen With Frederic Thiebaud
Shania Twain's divorce from music producer Robert "Mutt" Lange was finalized this week, and the country singer appears to be wasting no time moving forward with her new man, Frederic Thiebaud. Twain, 42, and Lange, 59, separated back in May 2008 after 14 years of marriage. Immediately after their separation, it was alleged that the two split because Lange was having an affair with Marie-Annie Thiebaud, the couple's longtime secretary and manager of their chateau in Switzerland.

Swiss consultant charged for vandalising train: Oliver Fricker was charged in court with breaking into a Singapore MRT depot along Xilin Avenue and spray-painting graffiti on a train. The offence was not immediately detected and the train plied its route in full view of commuters. Fricker was with a Briton identified as Lloyd Dane Alexander when he broke into the MRT depot. Alexander has left Singapore before the police report was filed.

The video taken by one of the commuters can be found on YouTube.

A Swiss business consultant was charged in court Saturday with breaking into a Singapore MRT depot and spray-painting graffiti on a train. Oliver Fricker, 32, was accused of committing trespass and vandalism in mid-May, and a district judge who described him as a flight risk set bail at $100,000. His passport was also impounded.

A worried-looking Fricker told the judge he needed a lawyer and asked that bail be lowered to US$40,000. But the judge cut him short and rejected the bail request, stressing the seriousness of the offence.

A police spokesman described Fricker as a company consultant but further details on him were not available from Singapore officials or Swiss diplomats. A man named Oliver Fricker is listed in the business networking website Xing as a senior consultant in Singapore working with a Zurich-based information technology firm specialising in the financial sector.

An American teenager, Michael Fay, garnered global headlines in 1994 when he was jailed and caned in Singapore after he was found guilty of vandalising several cars. Fay was caned despite a US appeal for clemency.

Actress Charlize Theron co-hosting the Final Draw show in Cape Town
The 32 teams participating at next year's FIFA World Cup™ finals discovered their fate this evening when the Final Draw for South Africa 2010 took place in Cape Town.

An estimated global television audience of 200 million joined the 2,000 invited guests in the Draw Hall in watching the colourful and entertaining ceremony unfold. With African sporting stars such as athlete Haile Gebreselassie, rugby player John Smit, cricketer Makhaya Ntini, and footballers Matthew Booth and Simphiwe Dludlu assisting with the draw, along with England icon David Beckham, it was always going to be an exhilarating evening, but the undoubted centrepiece came when the eight groups were revealed.

While South Africans smiled upon learning that the host nation's Opening Match on 11 June would be played against Mexico at Soccer City, it was the outcome of Group D which caused the biggest stir. Germany, Australia, Serbia and Ghana will battle it out for the two qualifying places for the Round of 16, meaning that two nations with a proud footballing heritage will have to depart the tournament early.

Unearth the dirty money
The Swiss have been surrounded for decades by mountains of snow and dirty money. That's why it is welcome news that Washington has been able to pry open Switzerland's bank secrecy laws this week. UBS AG will hand over information on the accounts of 4,450 wealthy Americans.

But this should be just the beginning and the next big target should be Singapore, according to Washington-based lawyer Jack Blum.

"As a result of the pressure on Switzerland, a lot of the client bank accounts have been shifted off to Singapore. UBS said [last year] it will co-operate in giving up the names, so billions fled and it all appears to be heading to Singapore," he said in a recent telephone interview.

Singapore is the "preferred destination" for Wall Street denizens, according to Singaporean opposition politicians. Who knows? Maybe some of Madoff's billions are there.

Top 10 Horniest Countries in the World: Re-visit of a survey conducted by AskMen.com on the top 10 horniest countries. The countries were ranked in line with a Durex sex survey. The higher a country appears on the list, the more of its citizens are having sex. The survey was published in the magazine in December last year.

Coming in first was Greece, followed by (ranked 2) Brazil, (3) Russia, (4) China, (5) Poland, (6) Italy, (7) Malaysia, (8) Spain, (9) Switzerland and lastly (10) Mexico.

For Malaysia, the survey reads,
In public, this country definitely appears conservative. For example, there was a recent controversy over whether sex education should be taught in high school or not -- not exactly sexually liberated. However, behind closed doors lies (pun totally intended) the real story: Malaysians are swinging from the bedposts, and loving every minute of it. Occasionally we'll get a glimpse of it - like when Malaysia's Minister of Health was forced to step down after his homemade sex tapes made the rounds in January of 2008.

Horny hangouts: In Kuala Lumpur, check out these bars and clubs for a straightforward party: Aloha, Poppy Bar or the Rum Jungle. To “choose your own adventure” visit the Beach Club where there’s a good chance a girl comes at a price, but she'll be worth every penny.
For China,
The more China’s Cultural Revolution thaws, the more its sexual revolution heats up. Want proof? Just in the past eight years, 5,000 sex shops have opened in Beijing alone. Plus, China even has a SEXPO, where Chinese residents come to check out sex paraphernalia. And with 70% of the world’s sex toys made in China, its horniest country status means that a good deal of their hard work won't have to go very far.

Horny hangouts: If you're visiting Shanghai, you need to check out these better-known spots: Bar Rouge, Zapata’s and Windows. If you're in Beijing, you’ve got a few options: Visit the Sanlitun Lu District, often dubbed “bar street” for all its action. For the tried-and-true joints check out Bar Blu, Suzie Wong and Brown’s, all renowned meat markets. And for your seedier pick you need to head to Maggie’s, a popular nightclub known for its working girls.

Luxembourg's Franck Schleck survives horror crash at Tour of Switzerland : Franck Schleck falls into ravine after he lost control of his bike. Video of the crash at the bottom.
Germany's Markus Fothen won the 190-kilometer fifth stage of the Tour of Switzerland on Wednesday, but the main talking point was the miraculous escape of fellow breakaway rider Franck Schleck of Luxembourg. The pair were four kilometers from the finish of the leg from Domat-Ems to Caslano when CSC rider Schleck lost control on a descent at approximately 60 kilometers per hour. TV cameras captured the moment as he skid into a metal crash barrier and somersaulted into what appeared to be a deep ravine. Fortunately, Schleck was able to pull himself back over the barrier, none the worse for the fall than a few cuts and bruises.
