She's a Palestinian with Turkish citizenship who was hit in the head with a tear gas grenade at a protest rally. I believe she died at the hospital shortly after arrival.

Edit: Here's another image which shows a large pool of blood under her head in the grass, as well as one showing her bleeding from the eyes. She seems to still be alive in both of these photos, at least to my untrained eye. But the article said her skull was broken when the tear gas grenade hit her. Plus, bleeding from the eyes, hole in the skull, the gimp arm, and pissing her pants do not spell a good future for her. I suspect some of her brains are also in that grass.

A man seen wearing a make-shift gas-mask hours before riot police use tear gas and pressurized water to quash a peaceful demonstration by hundreds of people staging a sit-in protest to try and prevent the demolition of trees at an Istanbul park, Turkey. Police moved in at dawn Friday to disperse the crowd on the fourth day of the protest against a contentious government plan to revamp Istanbul’s main square, Taksim, injuring a number of protesters. The protesters are demanding that the square’s park, Gezi, is protected.

20 Hurt as Turkish Plane Crashes in Amsterdam: Turkish Airlines flight TK1951 carrying 127 passengers and seven crew members crashed near Amsterdam’s Schiphol airport, the airline said. The Boeing 737-800 aircraft broke into three parts after it slammed into the grass about 3 miles from the runway. The aircraft did not catch fire. About 20 people were injured.
Initial reports said that one person died in the wreckage. But The Associated Press quoted Turkish Airlines as saying that there were no deaths among the 127 passengers and seven crew on the plane, Turkish Airlines flight TK1951, that left Istanbul at 8:22 a.m. on Wednesday. Temel Kotil, the chief executive of the airline, said at a news conference in Istanbul that 20 people were injured in the accident. The crash took place in calm weather with a light drizzle. Unlike a deadly accident in Madrid last summer when a Spanair flight crashed while taking off, no fire broke out during Wednesday’s crash. The Turkish aircraft would have been low on fuel as it approached its destination.

A Turkish Airlines passenger plane lay broken in a field after it attempted to land at the Schiphol airport in Amsterdam, Netherlands.

Teen Documents Her Starvation on Video: Karen is gripped with anxiety as she stares at her plate of roasted turkey drizzled in gravy, cinnamon-flavored yams and cranberry sauce. The holiday dish smells delicious, but she can't bring herself to enjoy it. "Karen" (not her real name) has already decided she'll probably vomit after dinner, and she's not alone. In a survey conducted by the CDC's National Center for Health Studies, over 19% of females between the ages of 12 and 15 are trying to lose weight.

Three weeks ago, Karen began documenting her frustrations with food on YouTube. Her video diary is an honest look at her war with weight. Karen recalls her battle beginning as early as 10 years old. "I remember in fourth grade thinking that I had to lose weight," she says. Obsessed with counting calories, the 5'4" teen admits to restricting her diet to 600 calories per day. Karen, who started out at 110 lbs, now weighs only 103 lbs. Her goal is to reach 98 lbs., which she considers the perfect weight.
