When Sunil first moved to Singapore, he had trouble finding an apartment.

"I called up several landlords who had listed rooms for rent," Sunil, a Sri Lankan who spent eight years living in the UK, said.

"Things would start out OK, maybe because of my [Western] accent - but the moment they heard my name, they'd blank out. Many said 'sorry, we don't rent to these people', or 'sorry, no room for Indians'."

Sunil, a civil engineer who arrived in 2012, said he was rejected by at least four landlords.

Swami Nithyananda’s Scandal Video with a Famous Tamil Actress Shown on Sun News Live: A video of Swamy Nithyananda’ having sex with a top tamil actress was broadcasted on Sun news live and has shocked people across India. See the video below.

Swami Nithyananda (or Paramahamsa Nithyanand) is a Spritual Guru from Tamil Nadu.

Swami Nithyananda video
In Nithyananda’s scandal video, he can be seen getting intimate with an actress whose name happened to start with “R” leading to speculation if it is Ragasudha or Ranjita.

The video was broadcasted on the famous tamil channel called SUN TV and the Tamil actress’ face was masked in the video. People have now called Nithyananda a fraud for making people believe that he is a Swami.

Nithyananda is supposed to be a Swami (spiritual person) and this shocking video of him in bed with an actress has only shown how some people take the common person’s faith for granted.

It still has to be verified if this is the truth or a scam.

18 wives, 18 murders: Mohan Kumar, a former teacher in India, has confessed to marrying and murdering 18 women since 2003.
Mohan Kumar, 46, admitted to the murders of the women, aged between 18 and 25 after being detained by police on Wednesday in a case involving a missing girl.

According to media reports, Kumar would approach the girls and tell them that they resembled someone he knew, just to strike up a conversation.

After asking them about their family backgrounds, he would meet them for a few times before proposing marriage. He would insist that his family would not want any dowry, as it is the custom among many ethnic groups in India.

If the woman agreed, he would take her to a temple to get married according to Hindu rites.

Investigations showed that each of his "wives" did have a honeymoon before they were murdered. They were taken to different lodges in Bangalore, Mysore, Hassan and Madikeri in the state of Karnataka.

However, soon after having sex, he would make them swallow cyanide pills, which he would claim were contraceptives pills.

However, earthquakes are not caused by gravitational pull, so set your mind at ease about the possibility of an eclipse's prompting the ground to shake.
Also at Channelnews Asia which says the email is a hoax. Professor Kerry Sieh, director, Earth Observatory of Singapore, said,
In the last 110 years or so, there have been about 85 really big earthquakes – 8 (on the Richter magnitude scale) or greater. And only two of those occurred on the same day as an eclipse. And even those were a partial eclipse, not a total eclipse. They happened in a different place from where the eclipse happened.

Two daredevils eat “killer’’ chillies and survive: The Naga Jolokia chilli is the hottest chilli in the world. And Australians Alex Fanning and Ryan Duke of Gosford shoots a video of them eating the 'beast'.

Click on image to watch the video
It’s the hottest chilli in the world with the potential to kill. But that hasn’t stopped two Central Coast daredevils from taking on the potent naga jolokia chilli in a test of resistance to its burning qualities.

The naga jolokia is rated at more than one million Scoville units, a scale used to measure the potency of chillies. No other chilli comes close. It is dangerous for people with heart or breathing problems.

Originally from northwestern India, this extreme pepper is now being cultivated in a custom-made hothouse at the Chilli Factory, Morisset.

Cow Urine Soft Drink, Gau Jal, To Be Launched As Coke Alternative: India's Hindu nationalist movement is working on creating a new soft drink to rival Coca-Cola and Pepsi. The main ingredient? Cow urine.

The Times Online explains the development of the beverage by the Cow Protection Department of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).
Om Prakash, the head of the department, said the drink - called "gau jal", or "cow water" - in Sanskrit was undergoing laboratory tests and would be launched "very soon, maybe by the end of this year".

"Don't worry, it won't smell like urine and will be tasty too," he told The Times from his headquarters in Hardwar, one of four holy cities on the River Ganges. "Its USP will be that it's going to be very healthy. It won't be like carbonated drinks and would be devoid of any toxins."

TV licence fee among world's lowest: Media Development Authority director of Customer & Licensing Services, Ms Pam Hu, replies to an Straits Times letter and said that Singapore's TV License Fee is "lowest in the world, even as the cost of producing Public Service Broadcast (PSB) programmes has risen over the years"
WE REFER to Mr Lee Kwun Lam's letter last Friday, 'Lopsided?'. Mr Lee had compared the costs of property taxes and TV licence fee. Both forms of fees, however, are imposed on separate utilities and are subject to different considerations. Thus, to make a direct comparison between the two would not be meaningful.

The TV licence fee of $110 has remained unchanged since Jan 1, 1994. It is among the lowest in the world, even as the cost of producing Public Service Broadcast (PSB) programmes has risen over the years, and there are more free-to-air (FTA) TV channels today for consumers to enjoy.
Someone in HWZ listed out the countries that has abolished the TV License Fee or had never had a TV License Fee (Malaysia, Australia, Belgium, Hungary, India, New Zealand amongst others).
